Oak Road Pond lies within the playing fields and park area at the end of Beresford Avenue, Hull.

The pond was dug by the Environment Agency nearly 20 years ago to provide clay for reinforcing the river Hull flood banks. Half the pond was designated for angling with the other half being designated for wildlife. In 2013, H&DAA entered into an agreement with Hull City Council to renovate and manage the facility.

The renovated pond now boasts 18 purpose-built fishing swims and is surrounded by a high-quality path. Fishing is open to all H&DAA members and holders of an official day-ticket (ONLY available online and not on the bank). The pond contains various species of coarse fish including rudd, roach, perch, crucian carp, bream and some tench weighing up to about 4lb. The pond has been developed as a general fishery for anglers of all abilities and with the particular aim of providing a good local fishery for people living in the Hull area. It will also be used as a venue to host coaching sessions for younger anglers, which could mean that there is restricted access for others on certain days.

Details of any events will be displayed on the Notice Board at Oak Road Pond, along with the fishery rules which are similar to those applying to other H&DAA venues, except that fishing is restricted to the hours 7am to 9pm. Disability blue badge holders may be permitted to drive to the pond side (if there is a Park Ranger on hand to open the barrier), but everyone else must leave their car in the car park and walk to the pond, which can be found by following the path toward the large wind turbine.
