About

Rewilding Youth is a Community Interest Company which means that it is not for profit and has been created to serve the interests of the community it was set up to serve, in this case YOUNG PEOPLE.

We know that spending time in nature can improve mood and wellbeing, but not everyone has easy access to the natural world especially those who live in an urban environment. This lack of access to the outdoors was exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic and research shows that this decreased exposure has led to young people suffering from ‘nature-deficit disorder’ (Louv, 2005) which presents itself through depression, social isolation, loneliness and a lack of decision making and problem solving skills.

The Rewilding Youth project aims to tackle these problems through providing the opportunities for young people to access and immerse themselves within the natural environment with a view to giving them the opportunity to develop their own life-long connections with the outdoor environment.
