About

Humber Street Gallery is a contemporary art space located at the heart of Hull’s Fruit Market with a continual programme of exhibitions all year round. Originally opened during Hull’s year as UK City of Culture in 2017, the gallery is a project of Absolutely Cultured which is the legacy company of Hull 2017.

As well as the exhibitions, the free to enter gallery also has two permanent works. From the outside of the building, you will be able to see the playful and experimental Paradise This Way pineapples. Inside you will not be able to miss the famous Dead Bod installation which adorns the eastern wall of the café on the ground floor.

It’s not just all about the exhibitions at Humber Street Gallery though. They also have an extensive programme of events including talks, workshops, screenings and performances which support the exhibitions programme.

Once you’ve finished exploring the gallery, you might want to make the most of their incredible coffee, tea, soft and alcoholic drinks in the café. All of which are best accompanied by the indulgent baked goods on sale. And if the weather’s good, the rooftop bar will be open offering unparalleled views across the Fruit Market.
