About

First Thursday Theatre Club is a monthly drama session for adults aged 18 and over. The session welcomes people of all ages and levels of experience, offering a chance to learn, discuss, and be creative together.

Each month's content is completely different, and participants are encouraged to take part in whatever way feels comfortable – whether you're a confident performer, a complete beginner, or someone who simply wants to join the discussion or observe.

Join Hull Truck Theatre's Associate Director for a session exploring the origins and history of Hull Truck Theatre. First established in 1971 by theatre director Mike Bradwell, the company began rehearsing in a house at 21 Coltman Street, later taking up residence in the former Hull Arts Centre on Spring Street, before moving to its state-of-the-art home on Ferensway in 2009, where it remains today.

Hull Truck Theatre's extensive archive is stored at Hull History Centre, and this session will feature a selection of key artefacts from the theatre's dynamic history.

The session runs from 10.30 – 1.30pm.
