About

On Monday, people are being invited to gather in Queen Victoria Square, where he will be welcomed by Lord Mayor Maria Coward, who said: "We have all felt inspired by his spirit, tenacity and dogged determination to carry on in challenges faced by the most fearless of explorers."

After crossing the Humber Bridge, Bushby is expected to arrive in the city centre at about 11:00 GMT.

The former paratrooper will be invited to join Coward on a stage in front of City Hall. A brief private reception will follow.

Bushby will then set off on the final few miles of his journey to the city's Sutton Park estate, where he will be welcomed by his mother Angela.
