About
Mission Impossible? Can we cure chronic lymphocytic leukaemia?
Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia is the common blood cancer in the world. Around 5000 people per year are diagnosed with this condition in the UK. Many of those diagnosed will never develop symptoms, but around half will eventually need treatment. Until recently, this cancer was though of as incurable but recent advances are challenging this concept.
In his Inaugural Lecture, Professor David Allsup will describe the disease, it's impact on affected persons and current advances in treatment.
