About

For 22 years, parts of North and North East Lincolnshire, Hull and East Yorkshire were joined together as a single county known as Humberside. Though short-lived, the creation and governance of this county was controversial and had a major impact in the region. Thirty years after its abolition, this exhibition looks at attempts to forge a Humberside identity, the county’s achievements and how it was viewed by inhabitants on the north and south banks of the estuary.
