About

Everywhere we look there are surfaces and structures we take for granted. Whether human-created or showcased by nature, we are surrounded by materials and forms which literally shape our worlds. In this imaginative exhibition, members of East Riding Artists explore the intricacies of texture, relief and layers through their own distinctive creative mediums.

From buildings and bridges, mountains and waterways, to flora and fauna and everything in between, this selection of studies, abstractions and interpretations explores the intricacies of structural arrangements, patterns and systems that are part of our everyday landscapes.

Each artist will utilise their unique style and medium in their explorations of Surface and Structure.

The ERA is a growing and vibrant platform for painters, ceramicists, jewellery-makers, sculptors, textile and mixed-media creators who live and work in the East Riding.
